Golden Week - Part 2 (Odawara)

Continuation of my activities during Golden Week...

3.  OdawaraOdawara is located in the southwest area of Kanagawa, along the coast of the Sagami Bay.  It is famous for Odawara Castle which was originally built in 1447 (it has been rebuilt several times over the years).

From the North Entrance, there is beautiful greenery as you approach the Castle.
Coming around the bend... Castle in sight.

Loved the reflections and colors in this photo.

We chose a lucky day to visit Odawara Castle - May 3rd - as there was the Hojo Godai Festival.  It is a "going to war" festival with people dressed in costumes, food stalls, crafts, and performances.  I really enjoyed the Taiko drumming performance.

More to come in another post...
